The site is located in the Abbeyhill area of the city. The existing east coast railway line constrains the site to the south and to the west are further commercial warehouse type buildings and showrooms.

The design includes 3 apartment blocks and a total of 139 apartments, of which 31 will be affordable. A range of apartment types will be provided, with each block providing a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The apartments will be divided over 4 to 6 storeys to create a varied and interesting streetscape. Each of the blocks have been orientated to ensure positive street frontages to existing streets as well as the proposed new internal street, whilst also maximizing views to the south towards Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park. The architectural style proposed will be contemporary, however a restrained palette of materials is proposed, including stone coloured brick which will reflect the traditional architecture of nearby Edinburgh tenements.

The flats are currently under construction with a prospective completion date early 2019.
