The design is a simple, pragmatic response to the opportunities and constraints presented by the context of Wallyford. It seeks to maximise the connections and integration between the existing and new neighbourhoods.

Green corridors link the edge of the existing village to the woodland surrounding the expanded settlement and Main Street is the unifying element that runs through the new development area linking the eastern and western gateways.

To encourage integration, community activity is focused in a central location known as the Local Centre. The Local Centre contains the proposed Education Facility and provides retail and employment space.
